MISSION
CAODMU is a collaborative partner in the tri-county area with local governments, churches, social service agencies, business and industry, civic and community groups, and interested individuals. Our Mission Statement is as follows: To improve the quality of life for individuals and families towards economic self-sufficiency.
SERVICES
This agency provides multiple services as outlined:

HEAP - Home Energy Assistance Program - and E-HEAP - Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program - which provides for limited assistance to individuals who are, or about to be, shut off from their primary heating source.

HWAP - Home Weatherization Assistance Program - provides weatherization assistance to eligible individuals in the form of insulation and draft alleviation to reduce heating bills and safety concerns.

ELDERLY HOME REPAIR/HOUSING TRUST FUND - provides minor home repair/maintenance services to qualified senior homeowners and, in some instances, landlord properties.

CARE TRAIN OF UNION COUNTY - provides assistance for the holiday season to low income seniors, handicap single residents, and families that are in need of help either with gifts and/or a food certificate.
ELIGIBILITY
175% or 150% of Federal poverty level

Documents Required for Eligibility Determination:
Income for 13 weeks for all household members
Proof of child support paid out
Social Security numbers for all household members
Heating bill or account number
Electric bill or account number
Winter HEAP: Nov.1 to March 31 - Disconnection Notice, transfer, new service or less than 10 day supply of bulk fuel (propane, fuel oil, wood, coal, or wood pellets.)
Summer HEAP: Over 60 no disconnection notice needed. Under 60 need doctor's letter. Call Community Action for details.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Other Services: Including, but not limited to, information and referral, emergency 911 phones and utility funded energy conservation programs.
