| SERVICES |
-Provide information regarding rights and responsibilities of crime victim
-Provide direct services for victims of crime on an individual basis through crisis and counseling, court advocacy and peer counseling
-On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to the victim at the scene, hospital or safe location
-Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning and additional resources and referrals needed
-Arrange transportation to an emergency shelter when available
-Provide information and referral to community resources
-Provide victim notification regarding case status
-Liaison with law enforcement and the legal system on the victim's behalf
-Provide assistance with restitution and victim impact statements
-Assist in filing claims with the Victims of Crime Compensation Fund
-Provide referrals for legal counsel
-Provide court accompaniment before, during and after court appearances to explain procedures, answer questions and define terms to victim
-Provide hospital advocacy services
-Provide assistance with emergency needs, such as food, clothing or shelter
-Provide assistance for emergency repairs, such as replacement locks for doors
-Provide public awareness, education/training, consultation and technical assistance in community organizations, human service agencies and law enforcement
-Provide information regarding safety measures, such as TPO's and CPO's
-Provide written follow up information for victims and their families |
